Beverly Eck is a passionate lifelong educator and equity-driven leader committed to expanding access and opportunity for all students. With over a decade of experience in Des Moines Public Schools, she currently serves as an Associate Principal, where she draws on her background as an instructional coach and classroom teacher to shape inclusive, student-centered learning environments. Beverly holds two master’s degrees from Drake University—one in Culturally Responsive Instruction and the other in Educational Leadership—and is currently pursuing her Doctorate in Education, focusing her dissertation on the lived experiences of Black female students in Midwestern school districts.

Beverly also serves as an adjunct professor at Drake University, teaching both graduate and undergraduate courses in culturally responsive instruction and women in leadership. Her work is grounded in strategic thinking, mentoring, and leadership development, which she uses to uplift both students and educators alike. Beverly’s career reflects a deep commitment to educational equity, reflective practice, and fostering learning communities where every voice is valued.
